In the Body | On Country | We Remember
Culturally-Informed Somatic Therapy and Education
INTEGRATING SOMATIC AND INDIGENOUS HEALING FRAMEWORKs.
Soma Ngurrawa is a culturally informed therapy and education provider dedicated to trauma integration, embodied healing, and community reconnection.
Founded by Kelly Mitchell, a Dharug woman, somatic therapist, and relationship specialist, Soma Ngurrawa weaves Indigenous wisdom, contemporary somatic practice, and narrative therapy to create pathways back to safety, belonging, and wholeness.
RECONNECTING BODY, STORY AND COUNTRY.
Healing begins where body and Country meet. Soma Ngurrawa restores the understanding that wellbeing is held in relationship — with self, others, and the land.
Through culturally informed frameworks and embodied practice, we create compassionate spaces where people can slow down, listen deeply, and remember who they are.
WHAT WE OFFER
Private Programs: Individual and small‑group journeys combining The Embodiment Method™ and culturally informed somatic healing frameworks. Supporting emotional regulation, relational repair, and reconnection with body wisdom and identity.
Community Events & On‑Country Experiences: Immersive gatherings guided by ceremony, story, and movement. Participants connect with Country and one another through shared learning, reflection, and embodiment.
Organisational Training: Trauma‑integrated education for health, education, and community organisations. We help teams embed cultural safety, relational attunement, and embodied awareness into everyday practice.
Cultural & Professional Mentoring: Ongoing mentoring for practitioners and leaders who wish to integrate somatic, relational, and culturally informed approaches in their work. Includes reflective supervision and mentoring for both Indigenous and non‑Indigenous professionals.
WITH A STRUCTURED, CONNECTED AND RELATIONAL APPROACH WE CAN RESHAPE OUR STORIES.
OUR APPROACH
Every Soma Ngurrawa offering is grounded in a two‑eyed seeing framework — one eye on Indigenous knowledge systems, one on contemporary therapeutic science — allowing both to work together in balance.
Somatic Practice: body‑based healing rooted in safety and connection.
Narrative and Relational Practice: exploring body stories and the meaning they hold.
Ecotherapy and nature- connection: learning through relationship with Country.
Ceremony and community: honouring transformation as a collective process.
At the centre of our work is The Embodiment Method®, a framework that helps people move from understanding to embodied change — from protection to presence.
